ZRL ATTENDS THE 2026 NC’WALA TRADITIONAL CEREMONY

Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) joined several corporate entities and thousands of attendees at the Ncwala Traditional Ceremony, a vibrant annual cultural celebration of the Ngoni speaking people held on Saturday 28th February 2026 at Mutenguleni in the Eastern Province of Zambia.

The ceremony, hosted by His Majesty Inkosi Yamakosi Mpezeni, celebrates the rich cultural heritage and unity of the Ngoni people.

As a proud sponsor , Zambia Railways Limited reaffirmed its commitment to preserving and promoting Zambia’s rich cultural heritage. The company recognizes the importance of traditional ceremonies in strengthening national identity and fostering unity.

ZRL was represented by Director Human Resources and Administration Mr. Clyde Muleya and other members of staff.

President Hakainde Hichilema graced the ceremony that was held on Saturday 28th February 2026.

Speaking when he officiated at the Traditional Ceremony President Hakainde Hichilema said culture for development remains dear to the government.

President Hichilema emphasized the importance of preserving culture as a unifying factor and commended traditional leaders for attending each other’s ceremonies adding the gesture demonstrates solidarity and mutual respect.

Other ZRL members of staff in attendance at the ceremony were the Regional Manager – Central Jawara Mubanga, Technical Assistant in the Managing Director’s Office Jabes Tembo and Public Relations Assistant Denmark Mulambo.
