ZAMBIA RAILWAYS INTENSIFIES SENSITISATION CAMPAIGNS ON ENCROACHMENT

Following a spate of rail land encroachment activities along the railway network, Zambia Railways Limited has intensified sensitization campaigns in a bid to raise awareness on the dangers of the illegal act.
Government through the Minister of Transport and Communications Hon. Mutotwe Kafwaya has so far conducted two site visits this year to ascertain the level of encroachments in Lusaka and Kitwe respectively.
The Transport Minister has also provided direction on how to curtail the illegal activities.
Vigorous community campaigns using Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) Public Address System have been conducted in all the regions (towns) were these activities are rife.
