ZRL STILL IN THE CHAMPION’S LEAGUE…….AS THE RAILWAY GIANT SCOOPS 1ST PRIZE AT ZITF
Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) won the 1st Prize under the Best Exhibit – Transport Services and Allied Industries category at the just ended Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Ndola, Copperbelt Province.
The 2022 exhibition was held under the theme, “Promoting Value Addition for Sustainable Growth”.
ZRL is promoting value addition through the intermodal partnership with the road. Through this partnership, cargo is transported by road in places where there is no rail connectivity, with the aim of servicing customers that are not yet rail linked.
Through this initiative, ZRL is transporting Coal , Wheat among other commodities.
Further, ZRL is providing logistics solutions to the major economic sectors such as Mining, Energy, Agriculture and Manufacturing.
Under the Passenger Service, the company has enhanced the courier service, where customers are provided with an opportunity to transport assorted goods such as household items at affordable rates.
The Engineering Division at Kabwe’s Main Workshops is actively providing engineering services to other companies through manufacturing, repair and maintenance of spares and equipment.
Among the notable exhibits, ZRL was operating the mini train that provided the show goers with a feel of a train service.
The ZITF is an international exhibition that allows both local and foreign businesses to showcase their products and services with a view of creating new markets and maintaining business linkages.
The event was officially opened by the President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr Hakainde Hichilema.
