Revised Passenger Train Fares effective 12th February 2024

ZAMBIA RAILWAYS LIMITED ADJUSTS PASSENGER TRAIN FARES

Zambia Railways Limited has made an upward adjustment to its passenger transport fares for both passenger tickets as well as parcels.

The increment has been necessitated by the need to mitigate against the high operational costs that the company is experiencing thereby adversely affecting the continued operation of the service.

The last price adjustment on the Passenger side of business by Zambia Railways Limited was in September 2022.

Currently ZRL operates two (2) passenger trains per week on the mainline between Livingstone and Kitwe and two (2) mixed trains per week between Mulobezi and Livingstone.

The new passenger price fares will be effective on 12th February, 2024 and details of the new fares have been placed on notice boards at various  railway stations across the system.

Members of the general public are therefore encouraged to acquaint themselves with the new fare structure.
