NINE APPREHENDED FOR THEFT OF RAILWAY MATERIALS VALUED AT K209,900
Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) working with the Zambia Police Service apprehended nine (9) individuals at Masuku Terminal along Masuku railway line in Choma for theft of railway materials valued at two hundred and nine thousand nine hundred kwacha (K209,900.00).
The suspects including three juveniles were identified as; Webster Nansowa, aged 25, Chakwanda Kayombo, aged 20, Simon Mwila, aged 20, Emmanuel Mwale, aged 20, Brighton Mudenda, aged 21, Trust Kapopi, aged 20, were detained at Shampande Police Post.
The recovered materials include; 71 Fish Plates valued at K170,400, 111 Bolts valued at K28,860, 3 Sleeper Screws valued at K240, 8 Sole Plates valued at K6,400, 1 Sleeper Chair valued at K800 and 4 Heel Blocks valued at K3,200.
ZRL commends the efforts of the Zambia Police and Zambia Railways Police in this successful operation.
