ZRL PAYS COURTESY CALL ON NEWLY APPOINTED CENTRAL PROVINCE MINISTER

Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) Management recently paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Central Province Minister, Hon. Mwabashike Nkulukusa. This meeting signified a significant step towards fostering collaboration between the railway company and the Central Province Administration.

During the meeting, ZRL Company Secretary Mrs Mwendabai Mwalusi Bulaya who was representing the Managing Director’s Office congratulated Hon. Nkulukusa on his appointment and expressed ZRL’s commitment to working closely with the Provincial Administration in addressing challenges and capitalizing on opportunities for growth within the railway industry.

“ ZRL has 4 main revenue streams namely Freight services which is the major revenue contributor, Passenger Services, Real Estates as well as Engineering Services which are carried out at Kabwe Main Workshops” said Mrs Bulaya

Mrs. Bulaya further explained that ZRL through its new Board of Directors has developed a new Strategic Business Plan (SBP) to run from 2024- 2028, that encompasses short-, medium- and long-term plans to address the current capacity constraints and position the company for growth.

In response Hon. Nkulukusa echoed the Government’s commitment in supporting the rail sub- sector for economic growth.

Hon. Nkulukusa further thanked ZRL Management for the warm welcome to the Province.

Accompanying the Company Secretary was Acting Director Human Resources and Administration Mr. Keith Mwanabaleya and Acting Director Commercial Ms. Agness Chaila.
