ZRL, BBR EXPLORE AREAS OF PARTNERSHIP

In an effort to strengthen the business to business relationship, Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) and Beitbridge Bulawayo Railways (BBR) of Zimbabwe have identified areas of cooperation aimed at improving capacity for smooth railway operations.
During BBR’s recent familiarization visit to ZRL , Acting Managing Director Fred Mwila said the visit provided a platform to share ideas and further cement the business relationship that exist between the two railway firms.
Eng. Mwila emphasized the need for BBR and ZRL to engage on a regular basis for improved efficiency and service delivery.
“The railway administrations in the SADC region are integrated, and Zambia being a land- linked country, ZRL thus plays an integral role in facilitating movement of traffic within and beyond the neighbouring borders through collaborative efforts. ” said Eng. Mwila.
Eng. Mwila said with the big market in DR Congo, ZRL is strategically positioned and will continue to engage different players in providing a reliable and cost effective service.
And in his presentation, BBR General Manager Raymond Shoniwa highlighted the areas of partnership that should be explored such as improved joint marketing as well as capacity issues.
Mr. Shoniwa was in the company of BBR Manager Marketing and Interchange, Thembani Moyo and Ms. Kelsey Keeve, Commercial Executive Grindrod.
